Shampoo should be pH balanced, wash away clean and leave behind no residues. It should gently and naturally cleanse the scalp and promote healthy hair growth. Using conditioners that are pH balanced, provide nourishment and protection for the hair as it grows and helps maintain healthy hair over time. Hairprint shampoos and conditioners address these issue and are safe and effective hair care options that don't add residues or use harmful additives.
What to expect when you use Hairprint Shampoos and Conditioners
Our shampoos are low or no suds. Lather is added to hair care through the use of synthetic ingredients that give the illusion of clean. We use naturally derived surfactants to help cleanse the hair. They are gentle and honor the balance of the hair and scalp.
How to use Hairprint Shampoo: Use a quarter sized amount of shampoo and massage into the scalp and then down the length of the hair. Be sure to rinse with warm water, not hot. Hot water can over stimulate the sebum glands and make you hair and scalp more oily. Use ever 2-3 days as needed. We do not recommend washing your hair with any products daily. Please allow 3-4 weeks of use to determine efficacy of the ingredients for your hair and scalp.
How to use Hairprint Conditioner: Apply Hairprint Conditioner on ends first, where hair is more prone to damage and dryness. Work your way up the hair towards the scalp. If your scalp and roots are prone to getting oily, please only apply conditioner as needed. Our Conditioners can be left on for up to 3-5 minutes and rinsed with warm water. A final cool water rinse can help close the follicles of the hair leaving hair naturally smoother and shinier. Please allow 3-4 weeks of use to determine efficacy of the ingredients for your hair and scalp.
For those with naturally dry and/or damaged hair: You may use any of our conditioner selections as a deep conditioner! Every few weeks, after completing the shampoo step, you may leave conditioner on for anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 hours. Remove the conditioner with dime sized amount of shampoo. Dry and style as usual.
Pro tip for dry hair: You may benefit from the addition of natural humectants to any conditioner in your regiment. Options such as; glycerin, honey or aloe are great for naturally dry hair/scalps. You may add 1 part (or 1 ounce) per 8 ounces of shampoo or conditioner. These can help naturally moisturize the hair.
Which Hairprint Shampoo and Conditioner is best for me?
Please see our Description and Suggested Use article for more information on our shampoos and conditioners
If you use the Hairprint True Color Restorer-
Sebum and synthetic residue buildup from conventional shampoos/conditioners and styling products can block Hairprint Color Restorer from accessing the hair and restoring gray. To avoid poor coverage we highly recommend washing your hair with our Chelating Shampoo prior to every Hairprint Color Restorer treatment.
**Please consult our How to achieve residue-free hair article for more information on how residue can negatively impact your Hairprint True Color Restorer treatment**
Best Shampoo to use Pre-Hairprint Color Restorer treatment: Use the Chelating Shampoo 1-2 per week leading up to treatment and 24 hours prior. Do not use any other shampoo/conditioner or treatment after the final Chelating Shampoo application. With each use, leave on for 5 minutes before rinsing. Stop use of the Chelating Shampoo for 7 days after your Hairprint Application. Use every 7-10 days thereafter as needed.
Best Shampoo/Conditioner to use post Hairprint Color Restorer treatment: You may use any of our gentle Shampoos and Conditioners after your Hairprint treatment. Please avoid the Chelating Shampoo and the Exfoliating Hair and Scalp Wash as these are Detox Shampoos. Follow with any Hairprint Conditioner.
If your hair feels dry after your Hairprint Application: An Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse, 4:1 ACV to water, is an excellent way to soften the hair after your Hairprint application. You may also benefit from deep conditioning for at least an hour after a Hairprint Color Restorer treatment. This practice restores, moisturizes and rebalances the hair. Rinse with the deep conditioner with a dime sized amount of shampoo.
