Hair that has been chemically Relaxed

Chemical Relaxers use strong chemical mixtures of sodium hydroxide, ammonium thioglycolate, and sodium thiglycolate to alter the structure of the hair. These harsh chemicals break the disulfide bonds found inside the hair and reshape the hair to a straighter alignment. This process can be incredibly damaging.

Common side effects of Relaxing hair include:

  • Dryness
  • Brittle hair
  • Thinning hair
  • Scalp irritation/dandruff

Hair that has been chemically Relaxed is fragile and we recommend that you protect it by using the Transition Method of Application.

If you want to continue to Relax your hair while using Hairprint Color Restorer, please wait at least 6 weeks before your relaxing treatment. After you relax your hair you will need to continue protecting the processed length with the Transition Method of Application outlined above.
